Our Co-Founders
Darryl Auston, MD, PhD
Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon & PCS Co-FounderDarryl is an orthopedic trauma surgeon with a deep background in academic and clinical leadership. He currently serves as the Director of Orthopedic Trauma in Wheat Ridge, CO. With both an M.D. and a Ph.D., along with extensive experience in industry consulting and medical education, he understands the multifaceted pressures physicians face to be experts not just in the OR but also in the business of medicine.
He understands firsthand the difficulty of balancing a demanding career with a growing personal life. Darryl and his wife welcomed four children during the intensity of his medical training, forcing him to learn early on how to juggle the rigors of residency with the needs of a young family. He co-founded Physician Career Solutions to bring those lessons to others, ensuring physicians have the support they need to thrive both at home and in the hospital.
Brian Kistler, MD
Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon & PCS Co-FounderBrian is an orthopedic traumatologist by training. He has spent time in his practice in both Central New York and Central Coast California. He has worked both in Academic and Private Practice which has helped him understand the nuances and challenges physicians in both settings face. He currently practices in Santa Maria, CA where he serves as the Director of the Orthopedic Trauma Service at the regional trauma center.
As somebody who works in trauma, he understands how easy it is for physicians to place some of the lives on the back-burner. He did it himself for several years before he finally was able to set up many of the services that PCS offers. He founded Physician Career Solutions to help facilitate that process for thousands of physicians so the struggle he went through could be streamlines for so many others. Physicians spend so much of their lives committed to taking care of others. Physician Career Solutions was founded to take care of them.
